Squid Game is a gripping K-drama that features excellent acting, a beautiful aesthetic and an absolutely riveting plotline. The style of this show leans into something like Black Mirror while the overall plotline is much closer to Liar Game or Alice In Borderland. The ensuing result is one of this year’s most original and unique Korean dramas.
What is Squid Game about?
Gi-Hun is a down-on-his-luck guy who finds himself obsessed with gambling and struggling to make ends meet. He’s completely debt-ridden and owes millions to both loan sharks and the bank.
The game is called “The Game.” It’s a mysterious, high-stakes game with billions of won on the line. 456 players enter and whoever survives after six rounds, comes away victorious. Each round plays out like a game show, with these tasks revolving around playground games. However, the twist is that these games are all real life situations that players must navigate through in order to win. For example, one round might involve navigating through a maze while avoiding obstacles and traps. Another might be solving a puzzle to get to a key. And yet another might be playing cards against another player in order to win money. The Game is an intense and thrilling experience that will have players guessing what task will come next. What we know about season 2 so far
There is still much mystery surrounding season 2 of “The Walking Dead” after only a few episodes have aired. With a second season now confirmed, it leaves plenty of possibilities for the future. We could well see Gi-Hun return along with the Front Man and a couple of familiar VIPs too.
A second season of Squid Game could explore different angles and explore the origins of the games themselves. There are definitely a lot of different ideas that Squid Game could explore, but it’s all speculation at this point.
