Unfortunately, this is the last time he’ll get to experience this game’s world, as its creators plan to shut their servers down. Momonga runs into an issue. The game’s creators say that they will be shutting down the servers in order to make way for a new game that will be released later this year. However, Momonga isn’t sure if he’ll be able to play that new game or not. If he can’t play it, then he’ll have to find another way to experience the world of Yggdrasil.
The protagonist is still conscious inside the game, which leads to him panicking and searching for a way out. He runs into a few player characters and tries asking them what is going on. Unfortunately, these player characters are no longer being played by their real-life counterparts. They have adopted mindsets of their own inside this game and start worshipping him.
The anime follows the life of Momonga, a powerful being who is trying to find a way back home. Unlike most protagonists, Momonga starts off his quest with mass knowledge and power. While they’ll be those that challenge his power, Momonga has many allies he can count on for support if he needs it. The side characters in this series are as strong as Momonga but aren’t the brightest.
Overlord is a fun and lighthearted comedy anime with a gaming emphasis. It’s perfect for those who enjoy watching comedies with a gaming twist.

Hi-Score Girl is a Netflix anime gem that everyone needs to watch.
Akira Oono is a popular student at our high school. He’s always been a bit of a loner, but he’s even more so when it comes to video games. One day, Haruo gets by him in Street Fighter 2 and the two start to argue. It quickly becomes clear that Akira is better at the game than Haruo is. The argument turns physical and soon enough, they’re both fighting each other in the arcade.
This defeat causes Haruo to despise Akira, despite her wonderous record, rich lifestyle, and intelligent brain power. The rivalry between the two starts out as a playful one, but quickly turns into something beautiful and somewhat relatable. If you thought that it would simply focus on their childhood years, you’re mistaken.
Akira and Haruo’s teenage years are explored in this anime, with the characters undergoing emotional and mental changes as a result. If you’re looking for an anime with a compelling romance angle and video game-like elements, I’d recommend giving this one a shot. ..

Tsukasa is a protagonist who opposes the idea of being trapped inside a fantasy world. He has a genuine fear of never returning home and the anime plays on this feeling by having Tsukasa interact with other players and creatures. Each player Tsukasa meets also has dreadful stories about their past, which takes its time detailing those scenarios to viewers. This makes for an interesting and engaging story that is sure to keep viewers engaged throughout.
The story of .Hack//Sign feels like it’s moving slowly at times. While there are monster fights inserted in the anime that help it speed things up, these don’t offer much entertainment. Instead, the story focuses on developing its characters and making them feel more realistic. This is anime that utilizes gaming elements to forge a connection around its characters and their livelihoods.

She insists he join their high school gamers club, and soon Keita realizes an area of gaming he’s never explored before. The hilarity and absurdity that ensues leads to Keita discovering a side of gaming he never knew existed.
Video games are a core element of this show, but it’s the characters that make it a worthwhile watch. While they’re both experienced gamers, their knowledge takes a detour where romance is concerned.
