Katekyo Hitman Reborn

Katekyo Hitman Reborn is a comedic battle manga with an underdog protagonist. Like most battle manga it has everything you can expect from call-out attacks to themes involving friendship. ..

The pacing issues in Katekyo Hitman Reborn begin to show in the first few episodes. This is because the anime chooses to focus on its characters’ mundane struggles, rather than exploring its world’s more interesting aspects. Thankfully, the anime picks up when it introduces its first big villain.

Tsuna, a nervous high school student, is approached by Reborn, a small hitman who informs Tsuna that he has been chosen to be the next mafia boss for the esteemed Vongola family. Although Tsuna is hesitant at first, he accepts Reborn’s offer. ..

The anime follows the journey of Tsuna, a young boy who is struggling to come to terms with his own maturity after being forced to fight in a war. He is like Midoriya from My Hero Academia but is much less intelligent. He often breaks free from his wimpy persona when he fights supervillains and makes great contributions to the story. The other characters in this series are charming and contribute well to the overall story.

If you can sit through its slow beginning, then you’re in for a wonderful treat. ..

None of the characters overstay their welcome and hog the spotlight. Everyone is given a fair amount of time to strut their stuff. The same bodes well for the series implementation of action and comedy.
