American Hustle (2013)

The film follows FBI agent Cooper as he investigates a series of robberies that have taken place in the small town of West Egg. The robberies are committed by a group of criminals who use the townsfolk as hostages to extract money from their victims. The wife of one of the robbers, played by Cooper’s wife, is working on a plan to free her husband and take him on as their new hostage.

Limitless (2011)

The story is set in a future where nootropic drugs have become a popular way to improve cognitive function. A struggling writer takes a special nootropic drug that unlocks the 100% potential of his brain. As his life completely transforms, he is introduced to a new world full of dangers. The story questions the morality of using these drugs and the consequences they can have on people’s lives.

Though there are some gaps in the script, Cooper’s strong performance makes up for every bit of it.

Nightmare Alley (2021)

This Academy-nominated psychological thriller is a must-see for any fan of David Lynch. Undoubtedly one of his best performances to date, Nightmare Alley tells the story of a conman who employs deceitful methods to make his way to the top as a revered psychic medium. However, he has a competitor who will go to any lengths to expose him. ..

Nightmare Alley is a well-made movie with a lot of promise. However, it’s important to be aware that Cooper does not deliver on his promise in this film.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012)

This romantic comedy is unpredictable and funny, containing unparalleled humour and clever dialogues. After being discharged from a psychiatric hospital, Pat moves in with his parents and plans to fix his marriage. However, situations take an unexpected turn when Pat meets a girl who convinces him to join her in a dance competition.

The film is a joy to watch, with Cooper’s usual humor and wit shining through. The film also has a bit of an edge to it, which is refreshing.

American Sniper (2014)

This film is a loose adaptation of Chris Kyle’s memoir of the same name. Kyle is a very skilled and valorous sniper who returns home after his duty. However, there is something that doesn’t allow him to take his mind off the war. The film follows his journey as he tries to cope with the aftermath of the war.

The veteran, named Leo Sharp, is 90 years old and has been living in Mexico for the past few years. He is part of a cartel that is smuggling drugs into the United States. The cartel is using Sharp as their middleman to get the drugs to American consumers.

This film is not for everyone, but if you’re a big fan of crime dramas, you’ll love it.

A Star is Born (2018)

The fourth adaptation of the 1937 movie of the same name, A Star is Born, is a beautiful musical drama that may prove to be tearjerking for those who are not particularly emotional.

The story of a young musician who helps a girl find her way to fame is a popular one, and it’s easy to believe that the movie can’t really hook one’s interest. But that’s not the case here. In fact, A Star is Born proves that a good story can get better when it’s retold in a nice manner. The story is well-told and has an interesting plotline.

This film is also a double dose of Cooper for viewers, as A Star is Born is also his directorial debut! ..

The Place Beyond the Pines is a well-done film that is full of smart ideas and execution. This is the tragic story of love, hate, feuds, and forgiveness. ..

Cooper is fantastic in his role as a determined and resourceful officer who is able to take on any challenge.

Although Cooper’s role in the film is not that significant, Wet Hot American Summer played an important role in launching Cooper’s career. It was unofficially the first time Cooper’s talent came into the spotlight. It is the last day of summer camp which for the counsellors is the last opportunity to have a romantic encounter with their respective crushes. Will they succeed in getting a partner? Or, will they be leaving with nothing but a regret that they didn’t try? ..

The Wet Hot American Summer movie is pleasing to watch, despite being a somewhat worn-out concept.
