This year, there are some films that just don’t seem to be doing well at the box office. These films may not be nominated for an Academy Award, but they’re likely to get a Razzie.

In 2021, there are a number of movies that many people may consider to be the worst. This list is not exhaustive, but it includes some of the most popular and critically panned films of the year. If you have any other suggestions for movies that should be on this list, please leave a comment below! ..

Without further ado, TheReviewGeek team present our top 10 worst movies of 2021!

  1. The Meg: A giant shark movie that was so bad it made the 2018 film Sharknado look like a masterpiece.
  2. Death Wish: A remake of the 1974 film that was so bad it made the original look like a masterpiece.
  3. Joker: A movie about the Joker that was so bad it made Batman look like a genius.
  4. Glass: A movie about a woman who can see through glass that was so bad it made everyone forget about Aquaman and Wonder Woman.
  5. Shaft: A remake of the 1971 film that was so bad it made John Shaft look like a genius.
  6. Tomb Raider: A reboot of the Lara Croft franchise that was so bad it made Angelina Jolie look like an Oscar-winning actress.
  7. Death Race 2050: A race to the death movie that was so bad it made Fast and Furious look like child’s play.
  8. Annihilation: An adaptation of the novel by Jeff VanderMeer that was so bad it made Stephen King seem like an expert on horror writing again . 9 . The Mummy: Another reboot of an old franchise, this time starring Tom Cruise as an archaeologist who uncovers a mummy in Egypt that is cursed to life and seeks revenge on anyone who crosses its path . 10 . Godzilla vs Kong: Two giant monsters fighting each other to see who is king of the world, which would have been fine if they had bothered to make either one of them good instead of just terrible ..

10 – The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard

The Hitman’s Bodyguard was a decent movie, but there was no need for a sequel. After seeing this poorly scripted effort, you will probably agree.

This time around, Salma Hayek joins the cast as a con artist who coerces Jackson’s bodyguard into rescuing her hitman husband (Jackson). So far so good.

The movie is a convoluted mess that tries to be both exciting and informative. The plot is convoluted and the acting is poor.

There is little to no value in this movie. The action isn’t as good as that seen in the last movie and the jokes aren’t as funny either. The talented actors are stuck with a script that simply isn’t fun, and the movie plods along in a predictable fashion. Another sequel would not be welcome, but knowing Hollywood, you can expect to see The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’s Next Door Neighbour in the next couple of years!

9 – Cinderella

Disney’s classic Cinderella story was a beautiful and magical tale that captured the hearts of millions of viewers. However, this boring and messy musical adaptation does not quite live up to the standards set by the original. Camilo Cabello is not a good enough choice for the role of Cinderella, and it would have been much more fun if he had not been included in this production.

Despite being another rehash of the classic story, there are differences here. This time, Cinderella is a designer who wants to start her own business. The ugly stepsisters aren’t particularly ugly. And the wicked stepmother isn’t all that wicked. Why these changes? Well, the movie is all about girl power and so desperate is it to be a feminist take on the original, that it sucks all that was good out of the beloved fairy tale.

The film’s heavy-handed script places too much focus on female independence over any semblance of movie magic. ..

Unfortunately, despite wishing for it, the fairy godmother didn’t turn this lackluster effort into a pumpkin.

8 – Twist

The story follows Oliver as he tries to escape from Fagin and make a new life for himself. Along the way, he meets new friends and enemies, all while trying to stay one step ahead of the law. The film is directed by David Fincher (Zodiac, Fight Club) and stars Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave), Michael Gambon (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2), and Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies). ..

There is nothing inherently wrong with giving the story a contemporary setting, but this is more a Guy Ritchie caper movie than a Dickens adaptation. Not that Ritchie directs the movie.

Martin Owen, the writer of the novel, tries to appeal to a more youthful audience by giving his characters streetwear and orchestrating scenes where they have to parkour around the city. If the plot was interesting, this wouldn’t be an issue. Unfortunately, it’s not.

This movie is a mess. The writing is poor, the story is dull, and the dialogue is risible. This isn’t a classic Dickens story like we know and love.

The movie is terrible. The script is terrible, the acting is terrible, and the entire thing just feels like a waste of time. I don’t think I’ll be looking for more movies from this director.

7 – Music

Sia’s new movie is a misguided effort that tells the story of Zu, who is asked to take over guardianship of her autistic half-sister Music. What follows is an autism drama that uses musical numbers and flashy set pieces to hammer home its messages of tolerance, acceptance, and family.

The story is poorly written and confusing. The acting is poor, and the overall plot is nonsensical. This movie should not be watched if you are looking for a good time.

Ziegler’s performance as Music is a very bad one, as she wildly overplays the autistic traits of her character. In some regards, her performance is downright offensive, and I say this as somebody who has lots of experience working with people with autism.

Ziegler’s performance was poor and should have been reined in by Sia. Instead, she has been allowed to get away with facial tics and other contortions that are rarely reflective of real-life autism.

The script is misguided in its handling of autism and the movie as a whole suffers for it. This is especially true in the moments when Music is being calmed down by her therapist. These mishandlings of autism are what have caused much controversy surrounding the film and have made it difficult to recommend.

6 – Tom and Jerry: The Movie

The live-action/CGI hybrid features beloved cartoon characters from our past. This time, it’s a disaster. After the disappointing failures that were Yogi Bear, Scooby-Doo, and Woody Woodpecker, it was pretty much expected that this would be bad. The final result confirms these expectations by featuring a series of disasters that are sure to leave audiences frustrated and angry.

In this movie, the famous cat and mouse duo get up to their usual hijinks as they cause havoc in and around a Manhattan hotel. The animation is fine but it doesn’t quite gel with the live-action backdrops, and this creates major problems whenever Tom and Jerry have to interact with the human stars of the movie, which include Chloe Grace Moretz and Rob Delaney.

Tom and Jerry’s animated shorts are much funnier than this movie.

5 – Earwig And the Witch

Studio Ghibli is famed for its hand-drawn animation and magical stories, as showcased in such classic movies as Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle. Much of the studio’s success is down to Hayao Miyazaki, the creator of most of the studio’s works, but sadly, he only has a ‘planning’ credit for this latest title, Earwig And The Witch. His absence is clearly felt! Hayao Miyazaki’s retirement from directing feature films has left a noticeable void at Studio Ghibli. His last credited work was on the planning stages for Earwig And The Witch - his only involvement with the production. Fans and critics alike have expressed their disappointment at his limited involvement in what is likely to be his final film. ..

This movie is a bit of a letdown, and I don’t think it will be as popular as some of the other Studio Ghibli movies.

The studio’s story is terrible, with little of the charm that we’ve come to expect from them. It even lacks a proper conclusion so it’s clear no love has been poured into this.

Studio Ghibli’s new direction with “The Red Turtle” was met with mixed reviews from fans and critics alike. While the studio is trying to move into a new creative direction, the movie itself was panned for its poor animation and story writing. This is unfortunate as Hayao Miyazaki, after a short retirement, has returned to make another movie. Hopefully this one fares better and teaches Hayao’s son some valuable lessons about moviemaking. ..

4 – After We Fell

After We Fell is a series of films that are based on the novels that were originally published on the fanfiction site Wattpad. They detail the lives of Tessa and Hardin, a young couple who fall in and out of love for reasons that you are unlikely to care about, and are the YA equivalents of the Fifty Shades of Grey series.

There are people out there that enjoy these films and the books they were based on. However, this is still bottom of the barrel stuff, especially for people who want intelligent scripting in their romantic movies.

After We Fell is a terrible film that fails to live up to the high standards set by its predecessors. The relationship between the two protagonists is barely developed, and there is little action or character development. In fact, the only thing of interest in this film is the jealousy and sex scenes between the characters. ..

I have already spent a lot of time this year, so I will likely watch the fourth and final movie. I don’t believe it will be any good, but it will be interesting to see if it’s as bad as this appalling sequel.

3 – Cosmic Sin

This sci-fi disaster is a disaster on many levels. The writing is weak, the special effects are poor, and the acting is largely awful!

Bruce Willis is a terrible actor and his movies are terrible.

The plot of the movie is not particularly original, but it does promise some action. However, if you’re a sci-fi fan, I advise against watching it.

Independence Day got this type of story right, and it had the budget to back it up. This has nothing to recommend and is a guaranteed waste of your time if you dare to give it a go.

2 – COVID-21: Lethal Virus

However, when it comes to Covid movies, we have to take a stand. Sure, they may be cheesy and poorly made, but at least they’re not boring. In fact, they’re so bad that they make the real thing look like a masterpiece. ..

This low budget zombie apocalypse thriller is poorly edited and has a clumsy story.

The movie has a 1.6 rating on IMDB, but our reviewers say it’s not worth your time.

1 – Vanquish

The Vanquish movie is a disaster that is not worth your time or money. If you are looking for an action movie with barely any action and a plot that could be written on the back of a cornflake, then this is the movie for you. However, if you are looking for an action movie with a good plot and some decent action, then avoid this one at all costs.

The movie is a waste of time and money.

The protagonist, after being blackmailed by Freeman, goes on various escapades in an attempt to find her daughter. Freeman’s motives for kidnapping her daughter are not clear, and there is no clear explanation of his character beyond the fact that he is not the hero many people consider him to be. ..

The movie is a terrible waste of Freeman’s talents, though the actor should have known better than to work with the director (George Gallo) again. They previously teamed up on one of 2019’s worst movies, Poison Rose, and that was as painful to watch as this shambolic bore-fest. ..

This is a poorly directed, poorly acted, and poorly scripted movie that has nothing of merit to recommend. The worst!

  1. “The Nun” This movie is a disaster from start to finish. It’s poorly written, poorly directed, and worst of all, it’s incredibly boring. It’s not even worth watching!
  2. “A Quiet Place” This movie is a mess. It’s poorly made, poorly acted, and worst of all, it’s incredibly boring. It doesn’t even make sense!
  3. “Get Out” This movie is a disaster from start to finish. It’s poorly written, poorly directed, and worst of all, it’s incredibly boring. It doesn’t even make sense!
  4. “The Dark Tower” (aka The Gunslinger) This movie is one of the most popular movies in the world and it deserves credit for being one of the best movies ever made. However, this version of the story isn’t very good either and it should be avoided at all costs!
