W.O.M.B.

Joe starts to obsess over Marienne again after she returns home from work. He knows her likes and dislikes, and he feeds off that stalker rush. Joe finds himself hiding under the bed when she returns home, referencing the pegging incident too!

Love tries to convince herself that she’s the “best wife ever” despite Theo constantly hanging around like a bad smell. He messages her continuously, despite Love telling him not to. As we hear Love’s narration, this flustered wife ends up messaging Forty in a one-way conversation to try and quell her concerns.

Joe’s problem is that he keeps thinking about Marienne while Love finds herself thinking of Theo. Joe’s obsession gets the better of him as he notices Marienne leave mid-shift. The woman is somewhat of an enigma but Joe convinces himself that he’s scratched this itch and won’t be divulging further after peeking details of an ex and potential abuse too.

Joe is having a tough day at work. He’s been working on a story about Beck and Marienne, but his personal issues with Beck start to surface. A big argument with Marienne leads to an introduction to Ryan Goodwin, one of the anchors on Channel 3 news. Ryan is one of the things that Joe remembers from his childhood. As Joe gets involved, Marienne lashes out and her temper reminds him of Beck. And that, in turn, reminds him of his deep-rooted Mummy issues.

In a recent interview, Marienne has opened up about her experiences in foster care and how they’ve helped her and Joe connect on a more intimate level than Joe ever has with Beck or Love. Marienne is an interesting figure, as she has also been in foster care and her rough upbringing allows her and Joe to connect on a much more intimate level than Joe ever has with Beck or Love. Alone, this woman understands what he’s going through, and if her light touch of his arm is anything to go by, she feels it too.

After Marienne tells her story, Ryan has a big case against her. He has emotional and verbal abuse, destruction of property, and wrong address for visitation for their child. There is blame on his side too, giving Marienne the wrong address for a visitation for their child and subsequently slapping her with a label of being neglectful.

The sprinklers turn on and the “passionate kiss in the rain” is played out. Until the water stops of course, as the pair decide they need to stop this… and then kiss again. ..

Meanwhile, Love attends a Women of the World Summit with her mother and a whole group of awful characters – including her mum. These privileged, upper-class ladies take the idea of inclusive womanhood to a whole ‘nother level.

Love sees through her mother’s ploy to get more likes on her social media post and decides to tell her the big secret she’s been keeping. She’s pregnant and is excited to share the news with her friends and family. However, an argument breaks out between the two women when Love’s hypocrisy about sabotaged happiness comes into play. Her mother points out that Theo was always a part of Love’s life and should have been included in the secret. ..

After a long day of work and stress, Forty-something falls asleep with a heavy heart. She dreams that she and her then-boyfriend, Forty, have a conversation in which he tells her that he is going to end things because he is too busy with his own life. In the dream, they share a hug before Forty deletes her phone number. This story is about how love decides to end things after a long chat.

Theo rushes over to Love’s place after seeing a previous scene involving Matthew asleep at the computer and a big board with names and pictures. This earlier scene paves the way for the mad-conspiracy-Matthew to be born, as he is investigating Natalie’s murder on his own. Are Joe and Love safe? ..

The Episode Review

Joe and Love are in for a tough time as they learn that Matthew is investigating them. Theo may prove to be crucial after all, as Love attempts to fly close to the sun without giving in to temptation. ..

It seems You is done with lecturing us about vaccines now which is good, and the writing has improved as a result. However, the show does feel a lot more diluted than the first season’s clear and structured path, with a lot of spinning plates held together through Love and Joe’s very-clearly-not-working marriage. ..

The show’s dynamic is still engaging, but given that we know this one has been renewed for season 4 already, I’m struggling to see where the legs are on this show to carry over multiple seasons.

We’ll have to wait and see what the final four episodes have in store for us.
