Barbarians At The Gate

Brother Day arrives to find Demerzel and his father, King George, discussing a pressing matter. The King asks Brother Day to come over and help him with something important, but Brother Day is too busy overseeing the dynasty.

Zephyr Gilat, the new Ambassador from Proxima Centauri, has brought a lot of news with her. Some say that she is a great choice for the position, others say that she is not up to the task. But whatever the case may be, there’s another candidate who could potentially threaten her power if she isn’t careful. This candidate is a man named John Harrison.

The Terminus communications blackout has left the city in a state of chaos.

The Brothers are worried about the implications of this discovery and whether an uprising is imminent. ..

Meanwhile, Salvor is held up in the ship and her captors claim they’re scrappers. Salvor realizes that they’re improvising and tries to work out what their play is.

As their leader (whom we later find out is called Pharra), looks out upon a tower nearby, she tells Salvor to take them there, claiming they’re after a navigation module.

Salvor reluctantly leads the soldiers to the fence, where she confirms that it only registers DNA of those from inside the Foundation, meaning only one can be brought through with her. ..

Pharra pulls out a handgun and clings onto Salvor’s back as they leave the bow and arrow behind.

As they drive a speeder together, Salvor continues to see visions of that strange figure from before. Salvor senses an opportunity and leads Pharra to The Vault, knowing that the null-field will knock her out.

Salvor interrogates the woman, finding out that she is the grand huntress of Anacreon. She reveals that Pharra is actually her, and that she was responsible for carving the scars on her bow and etching the specific markings on it. Salvor is shocked to hear this, and decides to take her into custody.

Pharra and her people are a force to be reckoned with, and Lewis must respect them for it.

The city is in the middle of a war.

Salvor decides to head north after experiencing a vision that suggests the location may be a safe place for her and her troops. However, she quickly experiences another vision inside the Royal Library, which raises more questions than answers. Salvor is quickly transported back to Foundation in the blink of an eye.

The Terminus rumbles ominously, and the Dynasty realizes that something bigger is afoot.

Brother Day is frustrated with the lack of progress in trying to verify if Hari Seldon’s predictions are true. He meets Demerzel and decides they need to disband their protocols and take action. Their action? Saving their legacy by forcing Brother Dusk to stay on Trentor. There are also hints that he’s going to bomb the tribes but that’s not confirmed so take this with a pinch of salt. For now, Dusk decides to send a team over to figure out what’s going on on Foundation, determined to reinforce the message that the empire will not be left in the dark. ..

Salvor finds a large group of Anacreon soldiers together and they are promising to raze their city to the ground. With cannons moving into position, Salvor contemplates whether The Vault could well be something put into place by Hari Seldon; a warning to stay away. ..

The episode closes out with Gaal, still floating in her capsule, seeming to be picked up by a ship. ..
