Hyejin

Gongjae vs. Jiwoo: A brutal but exciting fight.

Gangjae and Cheol-Ho slither down to her room, chuckling hysterically as Jiwoo struggles to remain conscious. After kicking Cheol-Ho into her father’s urn, she grabs the smashed china and squeezes it tight, determined to defend herself. As Gangjae comes at her with a hammer, she stabs him in the gut.

Gangjae is brought before Mujin, who’s disappointed by his insolence. As punishment, he slashes Gangjae clean across the cheek, leaving a nasty, deep gash.

Jiwoo’s poor upbringing has left her with a lot of anger and resentment. She takes it out on Mujin, who helps her out. They go to a restaurant where they share food and drink. Mujin gives her a new alias to go by – Hyejin. He even hands over the gun used to kill Donghoon, which happens to be a police-issued firearm.

Jiwoo, a young woman who has dedicated herself to the police force, is quickly promoted to Narcotics after a successful undercover operation. She reports to Captain Cha, who is known for his brashness. ..

Hyejin, a secret informant, meets Mujin and shares her suspicions that Captain Cha may have been involved in her father’s murder. Part of the reason Mujin is so committed to helping Jiwoo is because of his past connection to Donghoon, who helped him out years ago. He has shown his loyalty to the organization by doing this, so Mujin feels obligated to raise her like a daughter in return. ..

Cha teams Pil-Do and Jiwoo together on the same case. Pil-Do is not exactly thrilled with that, as the gang prepare to bring a guy called Mango in for questioning. ..

Captain Cha is convinced that Mujin is about to make his move, while the crime lord decides to put his faith in Jiwoo and her conviction to find her father’s killer. He’s also well-aware that if things go sideways then she’ll need to be killed. ..

Jiwoo can hold her own against any opponent, as she heads in and single-handedly takes out all the goons in the hallway. She stumbles upon a massive gambling operation, and singlehandedly grabs Mango.

The Episode Review

In the second episode of My Name, Jiwoo works undercover to gain revenge for her father’s killing. It seems that Captain Cha could actually be responsible, but we’re not sure for what reason. We see her working hard to gather evidence and it seems like she’s determined to find the truth. Whether this is really the truth or a red herring remains a mystery.

In this chapter, Jiwoo’s resolve and resourcefulness are shown as she manages to stave off the threat of being abused and winning the fight against all the other gangsters. Mujin obviously has his personal reasons for helping her, and understanding how that ties in with her father is good to see.

Since the release of the first chapter, many readers have been eagerly awaiting the continuation of Jiwoo’s story. In this follow-up chapter, we see Jiwoo continuing to investigate the truth behind her family’s past. However, there may be more twists in store for Jiwoo as she continues her search. ..
