Welcome To Gongjin

Doctor Yoon Hye-Jin is a dental nurse who is having trouble with her superior. This leads to her losing a patient to the Chief doctor Min-Young. ..

It is very clear that Min-young is only trying to make more money and not thinking about the welfare of these patients. In fact, Hye-Jin loses her temper and walks out.

Mi-Seon is the only one who can help her. Hye-Jin must convince the other members of her team that it’s in their best interest to help her, even if it means they’ll be fired. With Mi-Seon by her side, she must navigate a treacherous world of online forums and social media to get the evidence she needs before anyone can be held accountable.

This is a story about a woman who was fired from her job at a dental clinic after she started to express her concerns about the health of her coworkers. Min-Young, the woman’s friend, is doing everything she can to help her find another job. ..

Hong Du-Sik, a recent immigrant to the city, arrives early to meet the workers at the port. He is kind and helps out a newcomer. Eventually, he becomes a surfing enthusiast.

As he does surf, Hye-Jin shows up down at the shore, reminiscing about old times with her family. Well, just like Cinderella and her lost slipper, Du-Sik shows up like Prince charming and hands back her shoe. Given it’s only one, she asks him for help finding the other. Instead, he kicks off his sandals and hands them over instead. It’s a wickedly funny first interaction, one that immediately sets the tone for what kind of pairing we’ve got in store for us going forward.

In town, Hye-Jin finds a crying child outside holding his tooth. He’s clearly upset and in need of dental care. Hye-Jin helps the boy out and brings him back to his parents. But, his parents just so happen to be the same family that own the restaurant that Hye-Jin’s borrowed slippers belong to. Oh dear!

Gongjin’s residents invite her in for food as a way of saying thank you. Hye-Jin debates whether to open a clinic in Gongjin, but eventually talks herself out of it. At least for now.

Hye-Jin’s car breaks down, so she stays in Gongjin for the time being. She stops by the local cafe, where the owner Oh Yoon happens to be an old star. Well, by old star then a guy who had a sort-of one-hit wonder back in 1993. ..

Du-Sik offers to pay Hye-Jin’s bill, but instead of accepting, she suggests he remove the innards from squids down at the docks. Du-Sik is intrigued and agrees to do this for her.

Hye-Jin is absolutely shocked when Du-Sik leaves her to the care of the squid-removing women. They shoot disapproving glances her way, especially given that she’s an outsider. Hye-Jin works for three hours and receives her wages. ..

Du-Sik also offers to check her car too, although it soon becomes clear that the pressure has gone and she’s forced to stay overnight at the local hotel. There, Du-Sik immediately begins talking to her casually, as the pair get engaged in some pretty funny banter.

Du-Sik arrives to find Kim Gam-Ri in a critical condition. He sets to work immediately, helping her to the hospital and saving her life.

Hye-Jin heads down to the docks where she finds Du-Sik already working, auctioning off food. She gives a bright smile from afar, which is only exacerbated further by seeing the kids from the previous day. After losing his tooth, Yi-Joon is getting along much better now and promises to repay her kindness.

Hye-Jin is called by Min-Young, who promises that she will never get another dentistry job in Seoul. She’s been blacklisted by the entire community. The only way to proceed will be to drop to her knees and apologize. ..

Hye-Jin has been living in Gongjin for a while now and is looking for a clinic to open. It turns out that the town’s real estate agent, Chief Hong – Du-Sik – is also interested in helping her out. This is great news! ..

The Episode Review

Cha-Cha-Cha is a fun and vibrant start to this small town cha-cha. The chemistry between the leads is already strong, and you can tell that this dental clinic in Gongjin storyline is going to play a much bigger role in the episodes to come.

The show is great fun and seeing Du-Sik and Hye-Jin dance around their fate-driven encounters is really good fun too. Kim Sun-Ho’s immense popularity after Start up makes his role on the show even more interesting, as he plays this part well too and Shin Min-A is a great co-star in the opposite role. The pair complement one another perfectly, making for an enjoyable watch.

Netflix has given us a new show called Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, which is set in a small town in upstate New York. The show is about a group of friends who go on weekend getaways to relax and enjoy themselves. The cast is great, and the show looks like it could be a really endearing feel-good weekend drama.
