My Life Had Stood – A Loaded Gun

Frazer’s funeral is coming up and Emily is determined to attend it. However, Austin won’t let her and calls her Edward’s double. This sets off a heated argument that lasts all night. In the end, Emily is forced to leave the house and return home.

At the funeral, Emily sees Frazer’s ghost. The spirit comes and sits next to her, incredulous at Edward’s speech. He admits that war was worse than he imagined and sees straight through Emily’s confidence that the family are stronger than ever.

Edward has a proposition for Emily: she will be the executor of his will, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure it is done correctly. Emily is confident in her abilities, but she also realizes that there are some risks involved with this role. She believes that Edward should invest in scholarships, to help people back into their lives.

The Dickinson family is going to give their home and possessions to William Austin Dickinson. Despite him showing a lack of loyalty to the family, Edward is still going to give everything to Austin. Emily is too emotional for this, and she eventually storms out.

Sue shows up to the paper, but there’s no Austin in sight. However, she has another agenda. She submits something confident for publication.

Emily is in a state of deep worry as she watches her family’s hope for the future crumble. She’s been through so much pain and fear in the past few weeks, and she can’t help but feel like her world is ending. The staircase of insecurities and deep fears plays out like a hellish veil over Emily’s home, and Betty can’t shake the feeling that Henry is in danger.

As Emily keeps running, she finds herself in the middle of the battlefield. Dead soldiers litter the floor, explosions send her crashing behind a barricade, and she watches in wide-eyed shock as these soldiers (completely out of alignment in a really terrible line) charge into battle. At the front of this are Henry and his men. Henry survives, the visions subside and in its place a chittering yellow bird; the recurring motif we’ve been seeing throughout the season. Emily is back.

The Episode Review

This episode is visually stunning and allows the story to be told in a more effective way. There are beautiful images here, motifs that are repeated throughout the episode, and a well-contained story about Emily seeing the horrors of war firsthand. ..

The third and final season of “Austin & Ally” is set to air in the coming months, and it promises to be filled with drama. Beyond that, the show highlights female inequality and the rivalry between Austin and her family. Whether or not this will be patched up by the end of the season remains to be seen, but it does hint at more drama to come. ..
