Arrival
The film is set in the future, where a group of aliens have landed on Earth and are living among us. The aliens are very advanced and have created a society that is very different from our own. The film follows the development of this society, as well as the interactions between the aliens and humans.
In Arrival, a linguistics expert is the driving force behind the action. The film follows her as she investigates a strange phenomena that has begun happening in her city.
The egg-shaped objects have been spotted all over the world, and the US government is determined to find out what they are. They recruit her to help them investigate, and she quickly realizes that there is much more to this than meets the eye. The objects seem to be coming from someplace deep in the earth, and they are causing strange things to happen. She soon realizes that there is something more sinister at work here, and she is determined to find out what it is.
As the movie progresses, we catch glimpses of these alien entities, with Louise doing her utmost to try and communicate with them. What do they want? Why are they here? And are they actually hostile?
This movie is a real modern classic, with a moody atmosphere and an engrossing story to boot.
