Urban Legend

Urban Legend is a typical slasher movie with a new twist. It’s not particularly original, but it does have some interesting ideas. The sequel, Urban Legend: Final Cut, is even better. Both movies get some brownie points for their innovative concepts.

As the students try to figure out who is responsible for the killings, they come up against a series of secrets and mysteries that have been hidden from them for years. Along the way, they must use their imaginations and creativity to solve the murders and find out what happened 25 years ago.

Urban Legend has a nice little twist at the end (as does its sequel) while the host of killings are timely enough to keep you watching until the end. ..

Final Destination

The Final Destination series is a classic teen slasher movie that has been around for over a decade. It started with the release of Final Destination in 2000 and has continued to be one of the most popular movies in the genre. This movie is known for its unique style of teen slasher, which is different from any other movie in the genre.

The first movie is arguably the best and revolves around a group of high school students who have a premonition that their plane will crash. Alex’s outburst prompts him, his teacher, and a group of students to be thrown off the plane before it departs. ..

As fate would have it, their plane does explode, but so too does Death’s plan for them to die. Now, the group find themselves dodging the FBI (who believe they caused the explosion) and Death itself, who sharpens his scythe and tries to kill the kids in increasingly creative ways every chance he gets. ..

Final Destination is a movie that is full of gory deaths and excitement. It is a great choice for those who are looking for a movie that will keep them on the edge of their seats.

Cherry Falls

Cherry Falls is a movie that borrows heavily from Scream, but manages to inject some originality with its premise. It’s a movie about a group of teenagers who are terrorized by a masked killer. ..

Jody Markam’s investigation into the long-haired killer in Cherry Falls leads her to uncover a web of secrets that threaten the safety of the townspeople. She uncovers a dark secret that could have serious consequences for everyone in the town.

The author’s writing style is engaging and the story flows smoothly. The main point of the story is well-developed and the ending is satisfying.

Cry_Wolf

Cry_Wolf has a strong ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ vibe when it comes to its cast of characters. The movie also conjures similar mystery vibes with its overarching story.

The high school students decide to use the murder of a woman as a way to scare their classmates. A group of teens set out and spread online rumours that a serial killer called “The Wolf” is on the loose. As the rumours spiral and the line between fantasy and reality blurs, it seems like there may actually be a ‘Wolf’ killer after all.

The film has some nice twists and it culminates in a pretty decent modernization of the slasher genre. ..

Carrie

Carrie is one of the quintessential Stephen King novels, so it’s only fitting that it make this list. ..

Carrie is a story about a shy, friendless girl who’s sheltered by her religious mother. After being humiliated by her classmates at prom, Carrie gets her own back as she goes on a murderous rampage.

The story of Carrie getting her own back on her bullies is satisfying and horror-tinged, while the vibes and tone are perfect for a melodrama.

Scream

Scream is a meta horror movie that not only pokes fun at its own genre, but does so by unironically introducing one of the most memorable killers in slasher history – Ghostface. Released in 1996, Scream was a huge success and spawned two sequels. The first sequel, Scream 2, introduced Ghostface as the killer and set up the story of a group of teenagers who are terrorized by him. The second sequel, Scream 3, continued this story and introduced new characters who were also terrorized by Ghostface. ..

Sidney’s friends are all scared and don’t know what to do. Sidney is feeling so alone and scared, and she doesn’t know how to tell anyone. One night, Sidney’s friend Tracey comes over to watch TV and she sees a white mask on the floor. She assumes it’s someone from the police department because they’re always wearing masks like that. But when she looks closer, she realizes it’s not a police officer but instead her old friend Sidney’s Mother! The call from the killer has finally caught up to her mother, and Sidney is now stuck with her crazed friend.

As the movie progresses, more of the past is revealed which leads to some really memorable and tense segments. While the sequels end up with varying degrees of quality, the original is undoubtedly a great watch.

Sorority Row

The Sorority Row tragedy has reignited a national conversation about the dangers of social media and the need for more responsible behavior. The teens who committed the murders are still at large, and no one knows for sure what will happen next. But with so many people talking about this case, it’s important that we all take a closer look at how our society handles alcohol and fraternity life.

The sorority sisters of the house that died after a prank go on a wild goose chase to find out who is responsible. They are stalked by a serial killer, and only when they come up with the wrong person do they realize it was their house-sister who was killed.

While the film does not offer anything new, it does successfully blend together a number of classics in the genre. ..

All My Friends Are Dead

All My Friends Are Dead is a game that follows the story of a group of friends who are killed off one by one in increasingly gruesome ways. ..

The detectives are left with only one lead to follow - the survivor of the house who mutters “All my friends are dead.” This leads them on an intense investigation that leads them to discover a shocking truth: there may be a serial killer on the loose.

Valentine

Valentine is a deliciously dark slasher that changes the time of year from the conventional Halloween to Valentine’s Day. This dark and suspenseful slasher has a pretty decent cast and a pretty menacing killer too.
